Moving to XFN

Post by brza37 on Mon Mar 19, 2012 10:05 am

Thanks to a generous donation from Scoop McLeak we will be moving operations from league manager to XFN (http://xtreme-football.net) soon. I'll let you all know ASAP what you have to do in order to register and make the transition.
The site will be ready before the next offseason.

Here's a screenshot to wet your appetites:

We should be able to finish the contracts and site layout by this weekend so everyone can start registering accounts for XFN now. Just follow the link below to register.

http://xtreme-football.net/SMLE

Once registered for the Xtreme site go to the main menu then select the leagues tab, enter the league name SMLE, then it should be listed and you can click join. I will allocate your team to you when we are finished setting up the contracts which will probably be by the end of the weekend. In the meantime you can check out the progress with the site though.

Re: Moving to XFN

All the contracts for user teams are fixed so we can officially make the transition to XFN now. Because LM didn't calculate signing bonuses and year bonuses correctly there are some, mostly minor, differences for teams between the salary cap figure at LM and the new one at XFN. This put a few teams over the cap but because there's nothing anyone can do about LM's bugs those teams won't have to make any chanes to get under the cap until the offseason.

Also FA is a bit different at XFN. It is no longer a first come first serve basis during the season. Each week FAs will be bid upon with the bidding closing when we advance to the next week. This gives everyone a fair shot at free agents each week.

Another plus is that cap penalties are automatically calculated on XFN, so we no longer need to post in the player drop thread and wait to be checked for cap penalties. In order to see what a player's cap penalty will be before you drop them just click on the player and look at the remaining bonus he has on his contract. I think when you cut a player that has a cap penalty XFN also notifies you how much the penalty will be before the cut is accepted.

Dropping players then trying to resign them for cheaper will not be allowed! All transactions are instantly recorded so it will be easy to see if that happens.

We will also draft on XFN so everyone needs to make sure they sign up there. LM should not be used for any future transactions but I doubt anyone will choose LM over XFN now.
