CB to RB?

Post by Mattanite on Mon May 08, 2017 9:05 pm

Like the not so great Raider, Taiwan Jones, before him CB Raysean Gerard recognises he sucks at CB and instead wants to play his high school position of HB before committing to Indiana as a kick and punt returner.

Raiders HC Geo Dude recognises he sucks and so is considering it so that he at least learn how to turn left on a return... He's not an ambi turner you see.

I don't know if there is any precedent for this? But he is of the build of more balanced backs and isn't of a freak build that would break the game. Can I have consent? Ta

Also, apologies for shifting DT/LE Jimmy Cleveland weeks ago, I thought d-line could shift at will but have reread the rules since.

Also, do you guys want TE Reese back to FB if he doesn't retire first?

Sorry but we don't allow changing CBs positions at all. Generally the request is from CB to S which we don't allow because CBs coverage ratings are higher than any other positions. But its also much easier to find a fast CB than it is to find a RB with 93+ speed so for the same reason we can't allow a switch like this.
We could possibly consider CB to WR because the pool of players is athletically similar at those positions. CBs can be used as returners on the depth chart anyway though.

Moving Reese back to FB is a good idea.

Did you move Cleveland from DT to LE? I'd say he could play 3-4 DT or DE although I'd probably see him more as a NT myself.

Will move Reese back before offseason for the FA pool. He'll likely retire anyway being 34.

Cleveland doesn't have the size for NT at only 300lbs but doesn't have the height for 3-4DE at 6'2" so a bit of a tweener. Happy to settle on whatever decision.

I'll consider CB to WR, it is mainly to improve the run skills as a returner (which I don't know if CBs can do?) and he will never see the field as anything other than a returner no matter what position he is in :S

Plus, pro bowl PR and KR spots are heavily biased for WR 1st and HB 2nd, it's much rarer (to never) to see a CB make the pro bowl as a returner.

Cleveland is fine at NT or DE for me.

I didn't know that it was actually harder to earn a pro bowl spot at returner if you were a CB. More funny EA logic.

We've never allowed a position change for a CB but I'd be ok with a change to WR since athletically and in other ratings there is no advantage. You have to see if 2 more of the committee members agree before making the switch though.

The link as requested:

http://daddyleagues.com/smleurope/player/11450742/attributes

I'd expect a shift to HB to rank his OVR somewhere in the 50's but a shift to WR would probably be in his 40's. Again, he'll never see the field as anything other than returner, it sucks to have a 94KR guy who has nothing in the running moves department ha.

I agree with Bish, no need to open these flood gates.
I'd just keep him as a return specialist.

No worries. Will just have to score 10 punt returns for TDs and overcome Maddens bias against CBs for pro bowl returner spots :p
