A reminder

Post by trulyinfemous on Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:15 am

Remember that this is a sim league.

This extends to stat padding vs humans AND the cpu.

Gaudy numbers do not impress anyone unless attained against a human opponent in a sim manner. I know how tempting it is to try and break records with players when the CPU is virtually gifting you a win, but try and resist those urges.

the CPU games may be a chore but it is the way we deal with CPU games that will help us fill them out. A destroyed team with no xp to rebuild from to go hand in hand with poor roster management from the cpu will not be attractive to prospective owners etc. etc. etc.

we all know the deal, just please try and remember. If you can't, double check the rule book. Its pretty simple.

Many thanks

A fair bit of this already happened last season. The damage has been done and there are plenty of "padded" players running around....and I don't mean the shoulder variety....

I think naming and shaming is the way to go.

Is the Cowboys QB one of these players in question? Considering how the game went, I don't think it's too bad but I would rather know now than to repeat and get a ban/warning.

I was just making a reminder, but if you want I will call anyone out that I suspect of stat padding in here and we can try and discuss it and see what to do.

You guys cool with this?

I won't turn down an offer to help keep up the sim standard. Just please dont let it devolve into a witch hunt or name calling thread. And if you're not sure about something you can always send me a pm first.

Afro - I think we're safe from our game. Although some might accuse us of trying to gain extra XP for our punters.

Obviously the CPU aren't putting up enough of a fight for some guys - been seeing Afew scores in recent weeks that are OTT in my opinion. Can we watch the scores were putting up against cpu guys. Lets not set a precedence for these kinda scoring to continue.

My CPU scores vs Dolphins have only been huge because they are the EASIEST team to beat on Madden I've ever played. Have no offense at all and the worst defense imaginable.

All my scores are in the first 3 Quarters, good luck keeping scores down vs that team.

Fair enough however whenever I'm on the good end of a blow put vs CPU I punt the ball instead of scoring again. I believed that to be way we keep running up scores down to a minimum which avoids stat padding and earning even more xp for our players.

Yeah I would do that if I had faith they'd get a 1st down to at least kill some time. Its very hard to punt for 20 minutes when you can call any play and it working(I remember calling an ISO on 3rd and 9 and getting it...) and calling an 8 man blitz (all out blitz from base D vs 5 wide) and getting a sack.

I found if I just kept on moving the chains slowly but surely time expired better, but I would kick a FG which I probably shouldn't.

Other scores have been tighter but I have no idea why Matt Schaub is so terrible and I have no idea who the Phins have on D lol
