Madden 15: League Kickoff Info

Post by brza37 on Tue Sep 02, 2014 11:25 pm

The Week 1 roster update should be released within the next few days so we should be able to kick off this Saturday September 6th. If the roster update is released by Thursday I will create the league and send out invites Friday night. Here's all the important information about the league in one place.

When you join on PS4 it is important that you all CREATE A COACH. No existing coaches will be allowed because of the huge differences in coach levels that effect XP and progression. We want everyone to start off on as even a playing field as possible so creating a coach is the only way to ensure this.

Our league stats and roster management site will stay at the following link:
http://daddyleagues.com/SMLEurope

Once the league is set up I will update the site to Madden 15.

If you aren't already registered at Daddy Leagues, you need to do that too and request to join our league there. The website also lays out the stats in a much better format than the EA site and will be the center of other cool features like Player of the Week and Game of the Week.

Its free to register and use all the features so just click the button "Register" to do that. Once you've registered you can go to the link above or search for SMLEurope and request to join the league.

The league twitch site is also the same as last year and we plan on bringing back Monday Night Football Live Streams on a regular basis now that we are back to full strength again. You can find that here:
http://www.twitch.tv/simmaddenleagueeurope

We'll be using that to stream the Game of the Week (for even numbered weeks in game) every Monday generally around 8pm UK time (21:00 CET). Any other users that want to stream other games or have them archived can also do that there too. Just contact me for details.

On Saturday once the league is advanced to the Pre-Season you can practice, play your game and train players on PS4. Please use the Game Scheduling thread to organize your games.

The same rules apply to Pre-Season games, especially regarding padding stats and running up the score. Starters should not be kept in the game more than 2 quarters. Any signs that that is not being followed will result in a suspension. Roster transactions (releases and signings) should only be done at daddyleagues.com/smleurope .

We will start the Pre-Season, with a 3 round Free Agency Draft (see full details below). This is to give everyone a chance at signing players and to keep one team from completely upgrading their roster with the sometimes highly overrated free agent pool. No free agents should be signed before the draft results are posted Sunday night. After the results are posted you can only draft the players assigned to you in the draft. Once Preseason Week 4 starts on Wednesday Evening you are all free to sign whoever you want on a first come first serve basis.

Also, every team will have at least 58 players on the roster to start with since guys on IR are still on the EA rosters. We are not playing with pre-existing injuries though so everyone will be healthy to start the season. Before the end of the Pre-Season you will have to cut down your roster to 53 players. If you don't do this in time the CPU will automatically cut players for you. Since the CPU makes some pretty bad cuts (sometimes starters) I'd suggest getting your roster down to 53 as soon as possible.

Pre-Season advance schedule is planned as follows:
Pre-Season Week 1 - Sat. 06.09-08.09. - Free Agent Draft
Pre-Season Week 2 - Mon. 08.09-09.09. - FA signings are limited to drafted FAs
Pre-Season Week 3 - Tues. 09.09-10.09. - FA signings are limited to drafted FAs
Pre-Season Week 4 - Wed. 10.09-12.09. - FAs free-for-all from now til next preseason
Regular Season Week 1 - Fri. 12.09.-14.09.
After that we will advance every Sunday and Thursday morning.

Settings are as follows:
Instant Starter OFF
Salary Cap ON
Skill Level ALL-PRO
Quarter 8 Minutes
Acc Clock ON
Min Play Clock Time 20
Game Speed SLOW
Player Progression EVERY 4 WEEKS
Coach Firing OFF
Game Play Tuning YES
Injury ON
Pre Existing Injury OFF
Trade Deadline ON
Trade Type HUMAN
League Type COACHES ONLY
Play Call ENHANCED
Strafe Assist OFF
Pre Snap Menu ON
Coaching Tips OFF
Player Names PRE-SNAP
Heat Seeker OFF
Ball Hawk OFF
Switch Assist OFF
Camera Settings STANDARD
Defensive Graphics NORMAL
Kicking Arc OFF
Previous Play Info ON
Play Call Layout TRIANGLE SQUARE CROSS
Camera Toggle ON
Tutorial Popups OFF
Fill Roster OFF
Re-Sign Players OFF
Progress Players OFF
Sign Offseason FAs OFF
Simulate Game Prep OFF

I think the desync problem is most likely caused by the bold print items being different but to be on the safe side you can match all of the above settings.

INJURIES - 51
FATIGUE - 60
PLAYER SPEED THRESHOLD - 0

Sliders are still to be determined but will probably be based on these:
http://www.operationsports.com/forums/madden-nfl-football-sliders/757618-armor-swords-all-pro-slow-simulation-style-sliders.html

I hope thats enough info to get everyone started. If you have any other questions feel free to post them here.

EDIT:
Free Agency - 3 Round Free Agency Waiver Wire/Draft
We will have a FA draft/waiver wire to start the league Saturday.
All teams who want FAs should send me a list of all possible FAs you want by Sunday night. I will then assign FAs to teams based on the 2014 draft order and the order in which you list the FAs. You will get the top player on your list who was not taken before your pick. I will post the taken players in the forum and other teams will not be allowed to sign them when FA starts when we advance to Preseason Week 1. There will be 3 rounds of FA reserving. If all the players on your list are taken by your pick then you won't get anyone, so make sure to send me a long enough list.

No free agents should be signed before the draft results are posted Sunday night. After the results are posted you can ONLY draft the players assigned to you in the draft. Any players that haven't been reserved by the time we advance to Preseason Week 4 (Wednesday Evening) can be signed on a first come first serve basis.

The Draft order is as follows:
1. Houston Texans
2. Washington Redskins
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Cleveland Browns
5. Oakland Raiders
6. Atlanta Falcons
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8. Minnesota Vikings
9. Buffalo Bills
10. Detroit Lions
11. Tennessee Titans
12. New York Giants
13. St. Louis Rams
14. Chicago Bears
15. Pittsburgh Steelers
16. Dallas Cowboys
17. Baltimore Ravens
18. New York Jets
19. Miami Dolphins
20. Arizona Cardinals
21. Green Bay Packers
22. Philadelphia Eagles
23. Kansas City Chiefs
24. Cincinnati Bengals
25. San Diego Chargers
26. Indianapolis Colts
27. New Orleans Saints
28. Carolina Panthers
29. New England Patriots
30. San Francisco 49ers
31. Denver Broncos
32. Seattle Seahawks

EDIT2: Desync Bug
There is a Desync Bug which is causing head to head games to be disconnected. The bug is due to users having different settings for kicking arc and defensive graphics. Because of this we will all need to use the same settings for these. The settings we will use are:
Kicking Arc: OFF
Defensive Graphics: Normal
Please make sure you use those settings when you create your coach and join the league.

Are F/A first come, first serve? Or are we doing a raffle type thing?

Good question. We will have a 3 round FA draft/waiver wire to start the league so everyone has a fair chance and not just the first guy to be join the league. I will add the details to my original post.

Brza, do the league settings not cover the 'kicking arc' and defensive graphics or do they have to be set manually by each individual?

Also, What does 'defensive graphics' actually mean? Is it the new viewing thingy? Forgive my naivety, i haven't even got the game yet!!

No, unfortunately the settings for 'kicking arc' and defensive graphics can be set individually by each league member even though it is also listed under League Settings.
Defensive Graphics is the setting for the Tackling cone and Pass Rush. The 'Normal' setting turns the Tackling cone off but gives feedback on the pass rush, which I feel is not so intrusive and arcadey as the tackling cone. Defensive Graphics doesn't effect whether you can change your camera or use player lock.
The kicking arc is off because imo it makes kicking FGs and coffin corner punts entirely too easy.

Ah, that makes sense. Thx.

How y'all finding the defense now? From what i've seen on youtube it looks like NO-ONE will risk playing as a DB for fear of getting burnt?

Just to update this when you join tonight you may not be able to see any free agents on PS4 yet. You can see the free agents in the CFM tomorrow when we advance to the Preseason.

The rosters we are using are the updated ones from today and have not been modified. So if you want to put your Free Agent wishlist together tonight you can check the updated rosters outside of the CFM under 'Manage Roster' then 'Sign Free Agents'. The roster is exactly the same that we're using so you can search there if you want to put your list together tonight and send it to me.
EDIT: Daddy Leagues is synched now too so you can also check there for rosters and free agents as well:
http://daddyleagues.com/smleurope/players?name=&position=all&team=fa

I did not advance to the preseason right away in order to avoid confusion and people playing vs. the CPU. When we advance to the preseason tomorrow please do not play against the CPU. We have a full league so give your opponent time to join. If by Sunday they still haven't joined, let me know and then you can play CPU.

We advanced this morning to Week 2. Next advance is Tuesday morning around 8am again.

Unfortunately, the CPU teams went hog wild on free agency and scooped up some guys who were reserved in the FA draft. Hopefully there owners join the league soon and we can sort it out before the Preseason is over. If worst comes to worst then I'll try to create a second account and release the following players:
Chris Snee
Danario Alexander
Kyle Cook
Sidney Rice
Richie Incognito
Uche Nwaneri
Kelvin Sheppard
Carl Nicks
James Harrison
Vonta Leach
David Stewart
David Akers

Just a quick note - when FA goes free for all do we need to make sure all owners have 3 QBs on their roster to avoid the glitch where QBs will not get injured?

According to CFM developer Josh Looman the bug is fixed. People also reported on operationsports.com that if all their QBs were hurt then a Punter or Kicker would come in this year. So, there is no minimum of 3 QBs necessary. Just beware you may have to finish a game with a K/P at QB if you have some bad luck.
