Your 1st round pick to LB ? He weights 291 lbs, have you seen his coverage skills or lack of?

Weight aside. C.Jones was a 55 zone coverage LB until i pumped him up a bit. not sure if its an argument but just food for thought.

I think that's the point, not the zone coverage. Defensive Ends usually need to lose weight to move to OLB, at least if they're above 290.
But of course in the past these measurables haven't mattered when positions were changed in SML, so I don't see why they should here either.

Actually Xipie, I forgot about his size/weight. He's no LB I'm afraid.

Think Tank Carradine is OLB with 6'4 295 pounds
And we have a 6'2 LT Razz

Madden got that wrong. He lost massive weight in order to transition to OLB before the start of the season: Here.
He used to be almost 300 pounds, but dropped to 270lbs to play as outside linebacker: Wikipedia

Same for Trent Murphy, the only other linebacker in our league with weight above 280: See here
He had to gain 30 pounds to play as DE, which is at the weight he's listed in M17, but dropped back down to 275 to move back to OLB.

There is no linebacker playing the position effectively at above 280lbs.

Agree with the second statement though. Position moves have already been allowed where players were either too small or too tall to realistically play the position. It's hard to argue against a player move because of his size when in other cases that didn't seem to matter.

Re: Raiders changes

The DE/OLB definition doesn't matter in todays' NFL because of all the hybrid defenses and its also why alot of football outlets have dropped the terms and used Edge player or Interior D-Line to define these guys.
That is also the spirit of the 4-3 DE/3-4 OLB change rule. You can switch Edge players' positions as long as they stay as Edge players. Interior players are 4-3 DT/3-4 DE/3-4 NT. They can also be switched. But you can't go from Edge to Interior or vice versa.

Aside from that, weight currently doesn't matter much in Madden. We allow any changes between these positions independent of weight so that coaches aren't limited in their defense choices. In the NFL a new coach who wants to play 3-4 would tell his 4-3 DEs to lose some weight so they can remain as Edge rushers. Or moving from 3-4 to 4-3 the opposite happens. In Madden we don't have that option. Hell, although not typical, in some systems coaches actually tell their 4-3 DEs to gain weight to play 3-4 OLB. Thats what Chip Kelly did with Vinny Curry who played OLB and DE in the 3-4 at over 285 lbs. After Chip left, Curry actually lost weight to play 4-3 DE at 270 lbs. So limiting Edge position changes in Madden based on weight doesn't make sense because it only limits the coach and isn't something we've done in the past.

So based on that I agree with Serwanga and Washington. If you play a Hybrid D the DE's are basically interior players in a 2-4-5 Nickel or 2-3-6 Dime look though. Because of that I don't think Calhoun can go from OLB to DE then because he'd be an interior player.

I'll agree  to all 3 to keep it simple....
See Brza post about 245  but I think you use Cincinnati D book which keeps backers out of D ends position.

Just piggybacking on this thread as it already exists.

Marcel Reese was already at TE when I came in as a coach, he is a free agent this offseason but does anyone want me to move him back to FB for free agency? His height and skill set are a FB not  TE (hence why I'm using my other TE).

He will likely then ask for a much lower contract at FB than TE after advancing the Superbowl, but it needs to be done before offseason.

Apologies again, I saw epones post for moving from right to left and vice versa... I thought they were okay.

ROLB Anderson to LOLB as I was comparing him to Burris before trading to the Jags.

RT Pamphile to LT which is his original position.
